ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

The Alumni Association traces its beginning to May 24, 1898, at a meeting of graduates from the New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, as the University was then known. That meeting of alumni - determined to connect graduates with their Alma Mater - has definitely grown. Like NMSU, the NMSU Alumni Association has grown with substantial help from dedicated alumni, students and friends of the University.

Together, we are discovering new ways to engage, support, celebrate existing networks and reconnect alumni to NMSU!

Active and engaged Aggie Alumni and volunteers enhance the institution for you and future graduates who will join the ranks of more than 145,000 alumni. Enhancement grows from genuine efforts to gather alumni in hometowns for events, welcoming Alumni back during Career Fairs and recruitment opportunities, setting up guest lecture sessions with departments across campus, sharing job opportunities with current students, mentoring opportunities with students and young alumni and attending events sponsored or organized by the NMSU Alumni Association.

Enhancing engagement after graduation is for any and all alumni across the Alumni Association. You, too, can help build relationships with departments, the university, and connect with other alumni to grow NMSU Alumni Association outreach through 17 active chapter networks and a growing number of student delegates.

About the Office of Alumni Relations

The Office of Alumni Relations equips thousands of alumni and alumni chapter networks with the tools they need to connect with each other and reconnect with the University.

The primary responsibility of the NMSU Office of Alumni Relations is to be proactive in creating successful and engaging opportunities, while fortifying and sustaining existing networks. With the help of the Alumni Board of Directors for the NMSU Alumni Association, the Alumni Relations team provides the strategic vision, guidance and resource services to help each chapter network reach its goals and potential – and stay connected to NMSU. Dozens of opportunities exist to help volunteer and give as well as programs and events that encourage networking, celebrating and mentoring. The office is supported and housed by the Office of University Advancement in Dove Hall.
