The Alumni Board of Directors (ABD) is a highly engaged collection of alumni representatives from each academic college, boasting diverse backgrounds, interests and regions that cover the last 5 decades of graduates from NMSU.

The New Mexico State University Bataan Battalion recruits, develops, retains, and commissions, the future leadership of the Army while motivating young people to become better citizens.

Chapter Network Leaders

The NMSU Alumni Association connects alumni from all over the world back to NMSU through chapter programming. Geographical chapters are organized based on the number of alumni who live in a certain area, like Phoenix, Arizona.

Distinguished Alumni

Since 1956, the NMSU Alumni Association has presented accomplished alumni with the Association’s highest honor — the Distinguished Alumni Award. After requesting nominations from all NMSU alumni each Spring, recipients are selected, one from each academic college, based on personal accomplishment, professional achievement and charitable service.

Outstanding Graduates

The Outstanding Graduate Awards, the NMSU Alumni Association’s highest honor for a student, recognize graduates from each academic college, as well as a master’s and a doctoral student from the Graduate School.

Inspired after the gun-slinging lawman, Frank Eaton, the then New Mexico A&M adopted the collegiate mascot "Pistol Pete" in the 1950s to represent the Aggie pride and culture of the university.
